Wambo Wind Farm

Client: Regional Group Australia
Location: Diamondy, QLD
Completed: 2025

Located near Jandowae in Queensland, the Wambo Wind Farm is a large-scale renewable energy project being delivered in two stages, with a total of 83 wind turbines planned to generate over 500 megawatts of clean energy for the state’s power grid.

During Stage 2 of the development, Macquarie Geotechnical was engaged to support the construction of laydown pads and an additional 41 wind turbine generator (WTG) foundations, which required more than 31,000m³ of structural concrete. Our team provided comprehensive QA/QC services for both concrete and concrete aggregates, maintaining a seven-day roster with coverage from 2:00am to 6:00pm daily. Working in rotating split shifts, our technicians supported testing of up to 1,000m³ of concrete per day to ensure quality and performance standards were met throughout the project.
