Site Investigation

Macquarie Geotechnical’s innovative approach to site investigation services provide valuable insights into subsurface conditions that are essential to informed decision-making in construction, infrastructure and environmental projects.

By identifying challenges early, we ensure safety, feasibility and efficiency, enabling effective mitigation strategies for successful project outcomes.

Our in-situ testing services offer essential information on soil composition, strength, and stability, assessing the suitability of sites for construction. We provide Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) testing, hand shear vane (HSV) testing, cone penetration testing (CPT), and undisturbed push tubes (<75mm) for high-quality soil samples.

Using specialised instruments, we monitor groundwater behaviour, soil pressure, and structural movement. This includes packer testing, groundwater standpipe and vibrating wire piezometer installations, inclinometers, and extensometers.

Our detailed site assessment services encompass visual and physical evaluations. We conduct photogrammetry surveys for precise topographical and geological mapping to understand rock and soil distribution. Our testing capabilities include Light Weight Falling Weight Deflectometer (LWFD) testing, plate load testing, and Benkelman Beam testing to assess soil and pavement strength.

All investigations are supervised by experienced engineering geologists and geotechnical engineers, adhering to AS1726 and Macquarie Geotechnical’s standard procedures, ensuring precise and reliable results for our clients.
