At MacGeo, we use advanced terrestrial photogrammetry techniques to create highly detailed 3D test pit models, capturing sub-millimeter details of visual conditions. These models allow stakeholders to “revisit” the site interactively, while the ground is still open, and better understand the subsurface conditions.

Plus, with 2D projections of the pit walls, we can present data with consistent scales, offering an objective source for auditing and enhancing subsurface log accuracy providing added confidence of the ground conditions to our clients. This is particularly useful for pavement investigations where the subsurface stratigraphic profile of constructed layers can vary significantly over short distances.
